Chris Clayton

Chris is a licensed clinical mental health counselor (CMHC) and social service worker (SSW) who began his career working with youth in residential treatment programs and grew to love the helping profession. He began working at all levels within youth residential settings from direct care staff, shift supervisor and residential director. This varied experience cultivated a passion of helping, which has led to providing treatment to adults with substance use issues. Chris, through his own experiences, academia, and an understanding of the human condition helps individuals establish meaning, passion, belonging, and value in their lives through cognitive behavioral therapy, existentialism, psychological understanding, philosophical questioning, and a development of the whole self. The desire to plant himself in this profession, results, too, from his own treatment process and knowing personally and professionally there is hope in recovering from such a devastating disease.
